Here at Abbey College we like to fully prepare year 6 pupils for the step up into secondary school. The transition to secondary school can be a daunting period for many young people. This can often mean that when pupils join their secondary schools in September they spend a period of time settling in and adapting to their new school rather than progressing with their learning and personal development.

In partnership with our local primary schools we feel that this period of time can be used more effectively to make sure that pupils continue their learning and progress quickly into secondary education.

We are in touch with all of our primary schools and over the coming weeks will be getting to know each and everyone of you all that little bit more so we can support you through your time at Abbey College. This transition page will be added to regularly with projects and other updates throughout the course of the lock-down and leading up to September.

Message from Mr Mann, Year 7 Raising Standards Lead

An end of term message from Mr Mann:

I hope you and your families have an enjoyable Summer break. In the mean time, please see the website link below  which will provide you with a free summer school, in preparation for your start in September. It is by no means compulsory, but I felt it would be really useful to help close the gap and make September as smooth as possible.

Kind regards,

Mr Mann
