Young Technicians CIC

Young Technicians is a scheme that runs at Abbey College on Thursdays after school from 3:30-5:30.  This scheme is paid for by parents and is run by an outside body.  Students train on site and can achieve their Arts Award.

During the scheme students can study lighting, special effects, sound engineering and stage management.  They can train using state of the art equipment and have lots of opportunities to work at our own school events and externally too at other schools, at festivals and gigs if they wish to.  This is available to all students of any year group.

Young Technicians during Covid-19 pandemic

We are still able to continue with online sessions throughout the lockdown period with sessions running every week in sound, lighting and event management.  It is still possible to join this time by contacting their office.

The Young Technicians team have also set up their new online radio station Fenland Youth Radioduring lockdown.  This  is run by Pino and David with members of the Young Technicians able to be a part of - albeit distanced.
