Welcome to our Virtual Open Evening. At Abbey College Sixth Form, we have a strong track record in supporting students to take their next steps and consistently achieve some of the best results in the county. We pride ourselves in providing students with the tools and guidance to access their future, be that a place at university, an apprenticeship or a job.

We offer a wide range of subjects to suit all your needs and small class sizes with teachers who will give you the independence you need to grow and achieve. At Abbey College Sixth Form, your learning experience is tailored to you. We want you to have a say in your classroom learning and offer a wide range of extracurricular activities for you to choose from.

One compulsory unit in Behaviour and Discipline in the Uniformed Protective Services. A range of optional units including Criminology and Expedition Skills.

Police constable, firefighter, rating in Royal Navy, airman/airwoman in RAF, soldier in army, officer entry, e.g. RAF, army, navy, apprenticeships, volunteer roles, e.g. special constable, part-time roles, e.g. retained firefighter, reserve roles in the armed services.

The course covers Changing Awareness of Crime, Criminological Theories, Crime Scene to Courtroom and Crime and Punishment.

DT Product Design

The coursework is a project of your choosing where you will Research, Design, Develop, Test and Evaluate your end product. The Final Exam tests the theory learnt over the two years.

Product Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Robotics, Automotive Industry, Fashion, Publishing, Digital Media, Film and Media, Aerospace, Civil Engineering, Construction, Armed Forces, Graphic Design or an Art foundation course.

London Institute of Banking and Finance

100% exam

Certificate is a one year stand alone course.

Diploma is a two year course.

Financial Services

You carry out independent research and need to keep up to date with current affairs and news stories. You will learn how to analyse financial products and select from them for different clients.

You must pass the Certificate in order to progress to the Diploma.

Undergraduate banking and finance courses,  careers in the financial world, particularly in the field of financial adviser, mortgage broker and banking.

OCR’s A Level in Classical Civilisation will help learners to understand the legacy of the classical world, whilst equipping them to progress to higher education.

Economics is broken down into two sub topics; macro and micro economics. Macro looks at the economy as a whole. Micro economics considers the way that firms behave. You will need strong mathematical skills and a good sense of logic
