GCSE to Sixth Form Transition

At Abbey College 6th Form we believe in giving our students the very best chance of academic success, as well as preparing our young people for life beyond A-Levels. The pathway from GCSE to University or the world of work is challenging, exciting and at times very demanding. We place great emphasis on ensuring our students are developing a skill set that will allow them to flourish and succeed after 6th Form. A large percentage of the students who study with us have been with us since Year 7, which is testament to the dedication and quality of the provision we offer.

Our 6th Form is a thriving environment with many opportunities for our young people to develop as thinkers and problem solvers. We teach them to master concepts and skills so that as accomplished young learners they are prepared for the world of higher education and employment.

As part of our commitment to a first-class education, we are delighted to launch our Bridging Course, booklet below. We acknowledge that our students have had breaks in their education due to repeated lockdowns. This has meant that in some areas there has been a lack of depth that the bridging course aims to address. The course is targeted at the skills and specific subject knowledge needed for success in both A level and BTEC programmes. The course starts on Monday 7th June and will end on Friday 25th June with a celebration showcase for the students.
